Transcript of the video edition

A judge in Miami says President Trump has to answer questions under oath. In his lawsuit against the BBC.

Trump is suing the BBC for ten billion dollars, over claims it says are defamatory. The BBC’s lawyers say they still haven’t been able to question him.

He was scheduled to sit for a deposition on October sixteenth, but his lawyers said he was no longer available. The judge now says he must sit for it by December eleventh. Missing that date could lead to penalties, including dismissal of the case. A deposition is sworn testimony, given outside the courtroom, where lawyers can ask questions. Missing the deadline could end the case.

The judge also ruled the deposition can be recorded on video, but only attorneys can see it. Watch whether the date holds.
